"rooster" was Jerry's dads nickname in Vietnam. . Rooster, commonly known as teh tracer trail from a Machine Gun. The M-60's and 240's were used in Nam and. When the M-60 or 240 are fired at the cyclic rate the tracer rounds look as if they are one orangish line. Now, up to about 700 meters the round will travel straight with no dip or rise. Around this time the tracer will start to dip, creating the arc like tail of a Rooster.

I wouldn't say Metallica (they sold out, check any music magazine, always Metallica merchandise no matter what) but I agree, even some late 80s stuff was good (Pixies, REM, Nirvana when they were starting off)

It is true that the music industry is filled with garbage, but there is some good stuff too.

This is odd, because according to Wikipedia the band didn't even exist until 1986 and I do have very vivid memories of watching the video of Rooster by Alice in Chains while I was stationed in Fort Hood which was in 1984-1985. This is a real conundrum for me because my memories with my platoon are clear and yet the evidence shows the band wasnt even around then. |
